Taft, Board Member for the NH Oral Health Coalition. \u201cHe was a widely respected and recognized general dentist and an oral health advocate for over 50 years. We are thrilled to establish this honor in his memory.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

In recognition of his enduring role as an advocate and ambassador for oral health, the NH Oral Health Coalition (NHOHC) is pleased to announce the formation of the Alphonse J. \u201cSkip\u201d Homicz Jr. Legacy Award. The award honors the late Dr. Skip Homicz, who passed away in 2023.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/figure>Dr. Stephen Hoffman of Keene Receives the 2024 Alphonse J. “Skip” Homicz Jr. Legacy Award <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In recognition of his instrumental role in improving access to oral health care and services, Stephen F. Hoffman, DMD, has been named the 2024 recipient of the Alphonse J. \u201cSkip\u201d Homicz Jr. Legacy Award by the New Hampshire Oral Health Coalition (NHOHC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDr. Hoffman was nominated and recognized by his peers across the state for being a public health visionary in the field of oral health in New Hampshire,\u201d said Gail Brown, Executive Director of the New Hampshire Oral Health Coalition. \u201cAs the founder and executive director of Dental Health Works, he has worked tirelessly for decades to ensure that all residents and especially the underserved across the Monadnock Region have access and excellent and necessary dental care.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBeyond his laser-like focus on those in need, Dr. Hoffman has been a mentor to scores of aspiring oral health professionals,\u201d added Brown.  Dr. Hoffman was honored at NHOHC\u2019s Annual Forum, held last December in Plymouth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a leader in public health dentistry, Dr. Hoffman established Dental Health Works in Keene in 2002 to help meet the oral health needs of Cheshire County, which at the time was a Dental Professional Shortage area. Now a full-service dental provider, the practice has helped thousands of residents across the area achieve and maintain better oral health.  Dr. Hoffman and his team work in collaboration with local schools, Cheshire Medical Center, and the community to ensure dental access for those with low income, low resources, and Medicaid coverage.  <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
