#Why Oral Health Matters: It’s All Connected!

The focus of this year’s Legislative Breakfast was on the importance of medical-dental integration statewide and across the lifespan.  We invited our partners to participate and inform legislators about their oral health programs and services whether healthy children, healthy families, healthy state; prevention, access, or integration.  It’s all part of New Hampshire’s oral health story.

This year’s displayers included:

• Children’s Dental Network

• Division of Public Health, Oral Health Program

• Easterseals of New Hampshire

• Mid-State Health Center

• NH Healthy Families

• NHTI – Concord’s Community College

• WIC Community Action Program Belknap-Merrimack Counties, Inc.

We are grateful to our Legislative Breakfast sponsors AmeriHealth Caritas of New Hampshire and New Hampshire Healthy Families, and to our program funders DentaQuest Partnership for Oral Health Advancement, the NH Healthy Children’s Foundation and the NH Charitable Foundation.

While enjoying a tasty hot breakfast, over 100 legislators  learned about oral health activities going on around the state.

The NH Oral Health Coalition is part of the Oral Health Progress and Equity Network (OPEN).  OPEN is a national network with a vision that: communities thrive because oral health is valued as essential to well-being, and equitable opportunities ensure that everyone realizes their full potential.  Organizations and individuals from the local, state and national levels are members and work together on a range of oral health, overall health and social justice issues.  Click the OPEN logo to join the network.
